Privacy Policy

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address, display name, and account type (reader or creator). If you sign up with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Profile information. You may optionally provide a bio, avatar image, location, and links to your social profiles.

Project content. Creators submit project titles, descriptions, images, team information, and campaign details.

Activity data. We record ratings, comments, backer interest votes, and messages you send or receive on the Platform.

Usage data. We collect page views on project pages to show creators how many people have seen their work.

We use your information to operate and improve the Platform, including to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Display your profile and projects to other users
• Show creators aggregated feedback and ratings on their projects
• Enable messaging between users
• Send transactional emails such as email confirmation and password reset
• Provide creators with their backer email list for their own campaign use

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

When you click "Yes, I'd back this" on a project, your email address is added to that project's backer list. The project creator can download this list as a CSV file to contact interested backers about their campaign launch.

By expressing backing interest, you consent to the project creator contacting you about their crowdfunding campaign. You can remove yourself from a backer list by updating your vote on the project page at any time.

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Public profile. Your display name, avatar, bio, and projects are visible to all visitors.
• Project creators. If you vote to back a project, the creator can see your email address in their backer list.
• Service providers. We use Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage, and Vercel to host the Platform. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to see. Authentication tokens are stored in your browser's local storage.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no online service is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

We use browser local storage to store your authentication session (provided by Supabase). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information via your account settings
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
• Remove your backer interest vote from any project at any time
• Opt out of non-transactional emails

Comic Launch Lab is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Project pages may contain links to third-party crowdfunding platforms (Kickstarter, Indiegogo, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
