I'm an Army veteran that loved the 90s-era Image and Marvel comics. I've been reading manga almost exclusively for the past 10 years though. I want to make hyper-realistic procedural supernatural horror comics.
A brutal murder occurs in broad daylight—but the witnesses can't agree on what they saw. As investigators hunt for a human killer, some insist the murderer wasn't human at all, but a Bacá: a creature of Caribbean folklore.
Baca's Contract is a grounded supernatural crime thriller where Caribbean folklore collides with modern law enforcement. Set in a world otherwise indistinguishable from our own, the story treats police investigations, government procedures, violence, and the supernatural with a realistic tone. Its horror comes not from a fantasy world, but from the possibility that something ancient and inexplicable could exist within ours. Intended for mature readers, the book blends crime, horror, action, and Dominican/Caribbean folklore.
