Fortune favors the bold - usually. The series follows the heir of a death-worshipping kingdom as he abandons his father's impending war and a grim destiny. When his path crosses with a trio of dysfunctional mercenaries with their own dark pasts, they’ll have to get their acts together to try and stop the end of the world as they know it. Fortune is set in a medieval fantasy world divided into four nations. Each land follows a different divine philosophy - representing life, death, order, or chaos - and those beliefs shape their people, their magic, and the conflicts between them: • Bethune embraces Death, believing battle to be worship. • Tuchlewitz follows Order, believing magic should only belong to them. • Rhote worships Life, believing the highest calling is protecting and nurturing those around them. • The Vertus Isles worship Chaos, believing prophecy cannot exist, as nothing is written in stone.
